Paul van Scherpenseel, Independent Consultant Researcher on Change Management
Paul van Scherpenseel is an independent consultant and a researcher on change management. In his consulting work he helps organizations change in a sustainable way.
Van Scherpenseel is also conducting a multi-year survey on why people, and especially groups of people, behave as they do in professional organizations.
His research approach is exemplified by the underlying
assumption that the
dynamics of daily practice guide
any change process. Therefore
the emphasis should not be on
people but on direction. The
reason is that organizations are
imperfect: there is always a gap
between the competencies an organization thinks it needs and its current competencies.
Van Scherpenseel has experience in both private companies and government organizations. In addition, he publishes on change management and is currently writing a book on effective leadership.
